LTD “GLAVSPIRTPROM”

Georgia is properly called the “cradle of winemaking”. This amazing, cloudless country is the ancient center of viticulture. Georgian winemaking dates back approximately 8000 years. Thanks to the unique microclimate, about 500 varieties of grapes grow in Georgia.

Grapes have been cultivated and wine has been made in Georgia since ancient times, grape vodka–chacha was made from chacha. In the second half of the 19th century, Georgian brandy production began.

Since the time of the Soviet Union, Georgia has been the main brandy producer. Brandy spirits were distilled and aged in more than fifty wineries in the “Samtrest” system. LTD “GLAVSPIRTPROM” was established in 2003 based on one of these factories in Tbilisi, where brandy spirits have been distilled and aged on oak logs and in barrels since its creation.

Soon a decision was made to produce and bottle Georgian brandy and grape wine, which would be made from grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the partners of LTD “GLAVSPIRTPROM”, for which we purchased an Italian bottling line. Today, LTD “GLAVSPIRTPROM“ produces brandy spirits, grape vodka “Chacha” and brandy aged from three to ten years, as well as dry, semi-dry white, rose and black wines, that are exported to the CIS and Baltic markets.
